Terms and Conditions

  1. All bookings are accepted by Barclays Properties and are subject to these conditions which are deemed to have been accepted in full by the hirer and all persons in the party. Bookings can be made by telephone, fax, e-mail or via the website and would be deemed to be accepted by us, provided the villa has been paid for.
  2. Cancellation by hirer: All cancellations of bookings must be in writing (sent by recorded delivery or email and we will confirm receipt of email) and notified to and received by Barclays Properties no later than eight clear weeks prior to rental period. On the cancellation of a long term rental contract (exceeding a period of four weeks or more), all rights on a refund of all monies paid (incl. rental, cleaning, utilities) will be immediately omitted. There is a 20% cancellation fee if the rental booking is cancelled within eight weeks prior to the booking. Should the rental booking be cancelled within two weeks prior to the booking then full payment will be charged.
  3. Credit/Debit card guarantee: Credit Card details are required with every booking, on accepting the booking we will deduct a 20% deposit from the card (or full payment if preferred). The deposit then be deducted from your rental bill. With the credit card details you have supplied us, this will only be used for the following reasons:
    • To settle an outstanding balance.
    • To settle cancellation fees, there is a 20% cancellation fee if the rental booking is cancelled within eight weeks prior to the booking.
    • To settle full rental payment, this is charged in full if the rental booking is cancelled within two
      weeks prior to the booking.
    • Damages to rental property.
    • Non-payment of rental.
  4. Payment: Barclays Properties must receive payment for the rental booking within 24 hours of clients arrival. Payment for the rental booking must be paid at Barclays Properties office, payment is to be made in euros, payment can also be accepted by Credit Card, there is a bank charge of 2% with this.
  5. What is included The villa rental includes on short lets: The cost of water, electricity, gas, maintenance of swimming pool and garden. A full inventory of equipment and utensils. Please note: No items must be removed from the villa during your stay. Towels nor any other items may be taken to the beach.
  6. What is not included The villa rental prices do not include any personal insurance, travel, transportation or airport to villa transport. There is a cleaning charge of 50€ for the occupancy of two people and 75€ for more than two people. This must be paid when paying for the rental property.
  7. Occupancy: Only persons listed on the Booking form may occupy the villa.
  8. Hirer's responsibilities: The hirer is responsible for taking all reasonable care of the property and its contents. The property and all equipments, utensils, furniture etc must be left clean and tidy at the end of the hire period. The hirer shall ensure that no member of the party engages in any activity in or around the swimming pools which may cause offence to neighbours or pollution to the water or damage to the structure or filtration equipment-this includes unacceptable antisocial behaviour. The hirer shall report to Barclays Properties without delay any defects in the property or breakdown in the equipment, or appliances in the property.
  9. Damage to the villa: Except in the case of normal wear and tear the hirer will be responsible for making good any damage to the villa, or its contents, which has occurred due to negligence, will-full damage or irresponsible behaviour on the part of those occupying the villa, or their guests. Such damage must be reported, without delay, to Barclays Properties office. The cost of the repair or replacement must be agreed with and paid for.
  10. Rights of access: The representatives or their subcontractors have the right of access to the property at any time with due regard to the convenience of the hirer for the purpose of inspection of the property and to carry out any essential repair or maintenance work.
  11. Injury and damage: Barclays Properties act as booking agents on behalf of the owners of the properties we offer and as such, your contract is with the relevant owner, and we do not have any responsibility to compensate you for any personal injury, death, loss or damage of whatever nature suffered by you (or any member of your party) during the booking period.
  12. Maximum number of persons under no circumstances may be more than the maximum number of persons specified in the villa description, or booking form, occupy the villa except by prior written agreement.
  13. Information: All information supplied by Barclays Properties and their representatives is given in good faith and is based upon information available at the time. All reasonable measures have been taken to ensure the accuracy of any statement made, but Barclays Properties and their representatives are not liable for any variation however caused.
  14. Cleaning: Please ensure whilst in the rental property and on leaving the property to discard rubbish in the communal bins provided on the streets of La Marina. All rental properties must be left in reasonably clean condition. Do not leave rubbish in the garden on departure, please put in bins. Please empty rubbish everyday whilst here on your stay, the reason being in these hot temperatures it causes maggots, cockroaches, bugs and diseases.
  15. Occupancy: Check-in time for the villa is 3pm & the villa must be vacated by 12noon, unless otherwise agreed with Barclays Properties.
  16. Complaints: In the unlikely event that you have a complaint regarding the villa or its contents, whilst on holiday, it must be reported immediately to Barclays Properties office so we can take all reasonable steps to resolve the matter. Neither Barclays Properties nor their representatives shall have any liability for any complaint submitted after the completion of the hire period.
  17. Alterations & cancellations by us: In the unlikely event that a villa becomes unavailable, due to circumstances beyond the control of Barclays Properties, then the hirer will be offered alternative accommodation or a full refund. In the event that no suitable accommodation can be offered then a full refund of the villa will be refunded. Any refund is restricted to villa hire cost and we are not liable for any cancellation charges for travel arrangements etc.
  18. Air Conditioning: Should the rental property have air conditioning, there is an additional charge of between 50€ - 100€ per week for the use of Air Conditioning. The remote control is available at Barclays Properties. At no time should a remote control be used in the villa, which is obtained by friends, family or obtained by any other means. Immediate eviction will follow in the event of this happening.
  19. Swimming Pool Safety: Tenants are fully responsible for their children's safety. Children should be supervised at all times whilst in the gardens & pool area. The proprietors and Barclays Properties take no responsibility and are not liable for any injuries or accidents that occur whilst in the swimming pool or rental property. Barclays Properties have no control over the opening of the communal pools, which may be closed at certain times (e.g. maintenance) or in low season.
  20. Lost property: Please ensure all personal items are removed from the property on vacating the rental property. Barclays Properties cannot be held responsible for any items/personal possessions left in the rental property.

  22. Insurance: The villa hire cost does not include personal insurance cover of any kind.
  23. Occupancy rights: All occupants have no legal rights to the mentioned property in which they are occupying, or the properties contents, during the rental period and on the termination of the rental contract.
  24. Passport Copies: the signing of these terms & conditions authorizes Barclays Properties to give a copy of the passport to the owner of the property for tax purposes.
  25. IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT PERSONAL ACCIDENT AND MEDICAL INSURANCE IS ALSO TAKEN OUT.
